Lasing dynamics of super and sub luminal lasers.
We study theoretically the lasing properties and the cavity lifetime of super and sub-luminal lasers. We find that obtaining the necessary conditions for superluminal lasing requires care and that a laser operating under these conditions can under some conditions tend towards bi-frequency lasing. In contrast, conditions for a subluminal laser are less stringent, and in most situations its stead...
متن کاملLasing Thresholds of Cholesteric Liquid Crystals Lasers
Cholesteric liquid crystals (CLCs) are one dimensional photonic band-gap materials. Due to distributed feedback, low threshold mirrorless lasing can occur in dye-doped and pure CLCs. In order to optimize the lasing conditions, we have studied the dependence of the lasing threshold on dye concentration and sample thickness. In particular, we have studied dye concentrations in the range of 0.1-3....
متن کاملContinuity of super- and sub-additive transformations of continuous functions
We prove a continuity inheritance property for super- and sub-additive transformations of non-negative continuous multivariate functions defined on the domain of all non-negative points and vanishing at the origin. As a corollary of this result we obtain that super- and sub-additive transformations of continuous aggregation functions are again continuous aggregation functions.
متن کاملSub - 1100 nm lasing from post - growth intermixed InAs / GaAs quantum - dot lasers
Impurity free vacancy disordering induced highly intermixed InAs/ GaAs quantum-dot lasers are reported with high internal quantum efficiency (>89%). The lasers are shown to retain the device characteristics after intermixing and emitting in the important wavelength of ∼1070–1190 nm. The non-coated facet Fabry-Pērot post-growth wavelength tuned lasers exhibits high-power (>1.4W) and high-gain (∼...
متن کامل4 N ov 2 01 6 Sub - and super - luminal light propagation using a Rydberg state
Abstract We present a theoretical study to investigate suband super-luminal light propagation in a rubidium atomic system consisting of a Rydberg state by using density matrix formalism. The analysis is performed in a 4-level vee+ladder system interacting with a weak probe, and strong control and switching fields. The dispersion and absorption profiles are shown for stationary atoms as well as ...
